backcheck my real BLOG >>>> mmmmm.....I stopped doing this :p
a long while...let us see...a new house in Vlodrop and the kids..aaaa...Max can almost outrun me and two days ago he said "voeten" (feet), "opa/oma" (granddad and -mum) and he is grown big!! Bram is talking away rappidly and just is recovering from the waterpocks...very sad!!
welll...it has been a while.
But most of December and Januario me and Vivan were ill (infections of the throat or head or just a huge flue-attack) and during the Xmas-days and Newyear we just tried to relx in bed and gather our spirits a bit...
Whatever...we are ok again and we are working towards our move. We will be moving to a house in Vlodrop (470 m3 and 5 bedrooms!!) in March/April...
What is new with the boys?? Well...MAX just turned ONE and last weekend he started walking! It looks great!! Bram is just a little late with talking but every day he now seems to improve his speech!!
The hat my dad got for Bram is from Nepal where my dad went on a holiday. Bram does not leave the house without it!! He even wears it when going to the supermarket!! LOL
OK!!!! My dad came by today. Some two years ago he and I jsut could not see eye to eye anymore, mostly because of unresolved feelings of negativity that just kept popping up every meeting we had. So shortly after Bram's christaning I decided to cut the contact to a minimum.
It was a hard decision but I have no regrets about that decision since it brought nothing but positivity back into my life. But now, 2 years later I could now accept him and let him into my life again and into the life of my sons. So now finally Bram and Max have two instead of just one grandfather. And while Max does not comprehend it yet with him being not even one year old, but Bram is an entirely other story! But luckily he reacted great!! He made my father feel right at home and welcomed him with wide open arms. What a great sight it was seeing Bram sitting with my father, while my son was eeting a banana! Just a great sight!! Really!!
Besides that, the two boys are doing great and Bram is preparing himself for Sinterklaas (dutch version of Santa Cluas I guess) and we have gotten great toys!!
LATER!!
mmmmm Max fell...down the stairs!! I had picked up the boys and went upstairs to get them into the shower but when I gathered some showerstuff I forgot to close the gate (childprotection no less!!) and he took off and went down the stairs under my eyes! I saw him fall and it still sends shivers down my spine!! The last hour we checked and doublechecked him but other then some bruises he seems ok and he even shows his famous smile again!
Well...it finally happened...
Max can sit up straight and on his own AND he pulls himself up and stands on his own. He still stumbles sometimes and falls over but the kid has learned this all in just one week!! I personally am amazed tremendously at his speed in learning!!
We also decided to NOT go to a hearing test (which is kinda regulated here in Holland in order to check for hearing problems as being the cause of learning difficulties) for Max since with Bram it just did not work out quit right. He was prognosed as having failed for the test but in our honest opinion..we think it is just plain ridiculous. In a figure of speech Bram can hear mice crawling under the floortiles!! So my guess is that my kids just fail since they are easily distracted and that is ALL!! So Max is not even going! And we are very sure of the fact that Max also does not have a problem hearing things at all..in the contrary :-)
Bram is doing great also. He is very busy with words and making complete sentences. He still has a problem with the "l" making a 'HALLO' sound like 'HAJJO' but that just makes us smile that much harder! :-) Also the K is pronounced as a T so a COOKIE is a TOOKIE :-)
The boys are both big for their age with Max being 11 kilos (wearing size 76/80) and Bram being 16 kilo (wearing size 98/104).
Last night we went for the festivity called Saint Maarten. We went to church were a small sermon was held and the story of the Saint was being played by children. Afterwards we all walked (kids holding little lights) to a field were a huge bonfire was being lit and songs of Saint Maarten were sung by children. Both Max and Bram had a great time and were very excited about the fire and all the people.
And ofcourse me and Vivian were excited because of that in return!! :-)
the end
Well....I had a week off (august 4) and that was also the hottest period in my providence (Limburg in the Netherlands) in the last 100 years with temperatures going well over 30 degrees Celsius (I believe that is 100 F). We have this little swimmingpool, just big enough for Bram and Vivian and me could sook a little when we were overheating :-)
That is all we needed cause that is all Bram needed. And we are happy when he is happy!! And Max just plays around on a blanket in the shade and is very happy with that.
Since I have had 4 weeks off in februar (due to max coming to this world) I have little days left but in the week of 11th august I took an extra 3 days off! Just sooking up the sun some more and being with Viv and the kids! just lovely.
We had a couple of barbeque's with ourselves or with friends and that is the most important thing! Sun, fun and meat!!!
We also got some new chairs for the kitchen. The old wooden chairs were very old and I took an axe and chopped them up. You should have seen the look in Bram's eyes!! He totally loved seeing this dad do this crazy thing!! And it went better from then cause we made a nice bonfire (in a metal firebasket...I dont know the exact english term) and I burned the 4 chairs!! It was till well after dark when I finished and Bram stayed up very late!! 21.30 hours was his bedtime cuase he was so enthusiastic he just couldn't be brought to bed earlier!! lovely!!
I will be uploading some nice pics of the boys in the next couple of days if I can but here is a nice preview!!
Anyway. Life is good. Vivian is still searching for a new job (she got fired as soon as she told her boss she was pregnant of Max) but we are still fine. The boys are doing just great.
Yesterday we took Bram (Max stayed with grandma/pa) to a swimmingpool and he just loved the water. If we hadn't held him he would have jumped straight in. He just thinks he can swim I guess!! He did go under a couple of times and on one occasion he threw up on me cause he had gotten a bit too much water inside but that did not spoil his fun one bit!! He even loved it when I took him into this gigantic slide!!!
Oh Max has started crawling since a week. Bram's speech is getting better and better and it is so much fun to hear him talk and trying so hard to make correct sentences!
This past weekend I wanted to do some work in the fromtyard, trimming some stuff while the kids where sleeping. I hadn't finished when Vivian brought Bram. He was already awake and he always yells WAKKUR then. Very adorable.
And there he came with his boots on his feet. Pappa working in the garden, well..so will he :-) So he picks up the broom and starts turning some of my debris unerneath the car :-)
I started cutting away a bit more and Bram joins me. Just plainly looking at what his daddy is doing. End all of a sudden he just walks away since he lost intrest in what I was doing. Still so cute!! But while he walks off he crosses a big log on the crossing of the yard to the neighbour and suddely he stands in the middle of a swarm of wasps!!!
Never knew there was a nest there since I always walk over those logs to get to my side of the yard!!
But there Bram was, scared and almost making no sound at all and over 20 wasps buzzing around him!! With only one jump I leap next to Bram and wildly toss my arms through the air and fencing off those groundwasps. I grab Bram and spin him around so the wasps hopefully will get off my son. I make a run for it and those damned wasps start coming at me like in a sodding cartoon!! But I manage to loose them all the while trying to slap away wasps from my son! And when I put Bram down I still see a wasp on his nosebridge and one on his head!! I slap those away and Vivian (still not having a clue as to what is happening really) takes over Bram. Bram is scared silly and cries on and on. Vivian even gets some tweezers and takes 3 waspangles (is that a correct word??) from his head which where still sticking out! And when his eye starts swelling I rush him to the doctor, afraid of an allergic reaction!
But in the end Bram is ok. He wasn't allergic but a wasp had stung him next to his nose close to his eye and that was merely a logical swelling. BUt add 3 more stings in his hair and one on his arm (totalling 5) I was glad IU rushed him to the doctor, just to be sure.
Daddy dearest only had 2 stings in his arm :-) At least now we know that neither me or Bram and even Vivian (who got stung back in '92) are allergic. Now Max... ????
We also got a new pet! A little bunny Vivian has named HENDRIK, after RIK my bro-in-law who is on holliday with his family and left their bunny to stay with us.
Let me see if I can tell some more...
max is fun as always. He is still incredible cheerfull and laghs a lot. Those high pitched screems that breaks into almost-singing is the sweetest thing to behold I tell you. Max is now 6 months and weighs 9200 grams and is really tall. But we never thought he would be smaller then Bram at six months, but he is... :-)
Bram and Max are getting bigger and bigger in every way. Bram now talks like he really wants to express him and that is so adorable. He also went to the "peuterspeelzaal" (=16 toddlers in a big room to play for a morning or an afternoon...not a daycare but indeed without his folks) and it went great. He made his first drawing, imagined cooking
and when his mother picked him up he just had a little tear..while his mother cried so hard when she left him there in the morning. But everything went fine and he will be going there 2 times a week now...
Max is loving life also. Very much laughter and almost no crying...he is just doing purrfect!! He now however has almost white hair...strange since me and Viv both have darkish hair...
And since the weather has been great we spend almost all the time outside in the yard playing with water and loving the summer!!
Bram loves to play with his little lawnmower, his toolchest and Max lies on the ground on a blanket just yelling at the skies!!
Such a sight when I get home I tell ya!!!
The passing weekend also was Father's Day...It was great! Bram 'bought' me a new watch...when visiting Turkey in 2002 Bram 'played' with my then-watch and when I
jumped in the ocean there miraculously was saltwater on the inside of the hourglass :-) ...and Max had 'ordered' a big cup to be printed with a nice photograph of Viv/Bram/Max on it...
And to top it all 'someone' ordered a special Father-breakfast (2 bread, cheese, butter, milk, orange juice) that was served in the kitchen.
All in all a VERY cool morning.
I even tried to call my own dad...it now has been over 1 1/2 year since last we spoke and where I tried to explain how I felt and why I wanted a bit less contact so I could cope with the situation at hand.
I know feel I can accept him like he is and not wanting more of him then he can give.
The phone rang but no one answered so I will have to try some other time and see if he is willing to meet and see how we now interact...hopefully we now can get re accquainted again and he can see his grandkids too. He has never even seen Max!
Oh well...we will just see what happens...
Another cheerful note...a good friend of mine (Allan from Belgium) became father again. His oldest kid (Quentin) is just a little jonger then Bram and his daughter (Lara) just 4 months after Max!!
Lara is very much like a baby: cute and beautiful :-)
And a little while back I went and visited Aart at his home near Utrecht. I was very warmly welcomed by his wife and whe had a great couple of hours. But like with everything nice..it all ends to soon!!
Today I am going to The Hague for work. It is over 2 hours by train and I will be having a meeting in order to determine whether I am qualified for the upcoming project of implementing the digital banksurvey in SAP in order to get clear the accounts.
I am very much looking forward to the project since it is completely new from anything I have done in the past.
We will see how it all works out...
On the way back I do hope I have the time to visit the "Walk In"-comicshop in The Hague. I consider it a shame if I am somewhere and I do NOT visit a comicshop...especially since I do not visit The Hague that much :-)
Again...we will see...
< edit >
Well...it now is 17.30 hours and alas...I planned to go back at 2 to be home at 4 and then Viv wanted to go to the carnival. But a meeting was planned at 2 so :-(
Good news is I got the project.

How have ya been!!!??
I have been good and bad and all in between!!
Last week my wife and me spent a great day in the sauna but when we came home our big boy Bram was feverish. Now this is quit unusual since he is so strong. And now he turns back into a little boy in a matter of time...
Eventually he got better and the fever subsided but a nasty cough still stays. And now also my wife got ill last Friday and I also have this cough that won't go away...and now Max started coughing...
My cough made me decide NOT to go to the X-men Marathon (X 1 followed by the premiere of X 2) the 30th of April which started at 10 in the evening...that would have been to taxing to me and my fam eventually.
But ok..all will be well in the end :-)
I can also proudly announce that max is now 3+ months old and weighing 7 kilo's and Bram is doing 17 kilo's...they are both really big for their age. Bram looks like he is 4 years instead of turning 2 in a fortnight!!
Max is also a very energetic little boy with tremendous strength it seems because he has started turning already. One morning I found him on top of his blanket with his lil body almost upside down!! And he babbles so loudly and smiles and chuckles!!!
Bram has picked up on talking a bit late but now is making great progress. A great example would be 'appelmoes', 'Pokemon' and the evolution of his pronunciation of MAX (first he called him MAH, then MAT and now MAK)...VERY CUTE
We also have had some nice moments with Bram at our yearly Carnaval (like in Rio but then colder) and at Easter.
Carnaval: we dressed him up a bit and went to the local celebration where he mainly slobbered mayonnaise from french-fries while looking at all the dressed up dancing children and grownups.
Easter: for the very first time he had the chance to collect eastereggs and BOY was he enthusiastic!! Shouting while discovering EVERY single egg (real and chocolate) I hid with no help at all...at our place and at my mother's place and also at my in-laws...FUN!!
We are now planning Bram's second anniversary that will also be the christening of Max on the 18th of Mai so that will be joyous!
Also coming weekend (11th of Mai) will be the first mothersday for Vivian where she will have 2 kids so I will be picking up some small gifts today to celebrate that also…
Well...that is all for now.
I have just had some pictures developed so I hope that within a week I will have my site (http://195.241.101.14/Boomboom/family.html) updated with some cool pics of the fam.
I just wanted to let you all know that I am back in the saddle so to speak.
Digitally speaking!!
I am back at work where I can email some more then at home since at home I have virtually no time to write emails dus to the familysituation with Bram Boom and my latest Max Boom.
but here at work I know am in between projects so I have some time on my hands...
Bit bitchy from me since now my wife has her hands full with 2 of those brats but HEY someone has to bring in the money right :-)
Anyway...It has been a month to the day that I was on the email-road and things have been great.
Delivering Max was very taxing for my wife.
She wanted to have Max at home and everything went great..inces flew by so tho say...UNTILL!!
seven o'clock when teh progress ceased!
The midwife then alerted the hospital that we came to deliver the baby there and (although not said but clear enough for me to understand) there was mention of delivering via cesarian section
But everything went great and soon thereafter Max saw life outside for the first time and he was NOT amused according to his cries!!
But then the placenta wouldn't come and that was to be removed manually in surgery. And THEN to top things she wouldn't stop bleeding so that was very close at one time...she even received 3 units (a litre in total) of blood but fortunately it all stopped in the early morning.
And after 36 hours in hospital my wife and babyson could come home for the first time.
My other son, Bram, at first had problems accepting max also due to the fact he had never seen a hospital before after his own birth and he reacted by ONLY have eyes for the slide in the hallway of the hospital and by trying to tear Max's hands or legs off or trying to bite him!!
But after a few days this went by and now he just lauches kisses all the time and wants to hold him (just sometimes a bit tight but that is because a 21-month-old-boy just has problems holding fragile things/animals/babies and Bram is VERY strong!!)...
Now Max is a month old, his mother is back on her feet totally. (her recovery wnet amzingly well) and although it is very busy and hectic we all love life to the MAX!!
LOL
But you can understand why the emailtrafffic has been sowmwhat drastically diminished he!!!
But I am back...from outer space!!
(quote from: Men In Black II)
Hey everybody
Just wanted to let the world know I have another beautiful son!!
MAX BOOM is 53 cm and 4030 grams
His mother seemed to have a fast delivery. When she called the midwife at 4 oclock friday afternoon she already had 3 cm enclosure.
After that everything went great UNTILL shereached 7 cm dialation...and stopped..
just to make sure we went to the hospital and there she had MAX at 23.10 fridayevening!!
She and Max are still in the hospital (24 hour surveillance) butwill get back home tomorrow (saterday)
